The October 2014 issue of the VA Lawyer Weekly Magazine features Christine Poarch’s article titled, “When Federal Immigration Law is a State Issue: Special Immigrant Juveniles in Virginia.”

In the article, Christine clarifies why the special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS) is determined at the state and local level, how the SIJS cases arrive at the courthouse steps, and why it is important to refer undocumented children to be screened for eligibility of SIJS.
